Technical Trainer

Full-time |  Sales  | Location – Olathe, Kansas 66062

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll deliver short and long term projects that support the business strategy. This will involve:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, interactive instructor-led training on technical instruction, troubleshooting basics, and repair theory for industrial equipment to both customers and employees.

  • Prepare instructional materials, manuals, handouts, visual aids, and hands-on demonstrations (e.g., engine test stands, cross-section cutaways) to create an interactive and participatory learning environment.

  • Set up classrooms for training, including audio/video equipment, training tools, product samples, and any other necessary materials.

  • Present training sessions professionally and engagingly, ensuring comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.

  • Foster a positive learning experience by facilitating verbal discussions and hands-on demonstrations.

  • Research technical manuals, attend system-specific training, and collaborate with manufacturers to integrate the latest information into course materials.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other departments (TSS, Marketing, Sales, Materials, Maintenance) to develop new training programs and materials.

  • Utilize various training methods and tools to ensure maximum learning effectiveness.

  • Incorporate technology such as PowerPoint and other tools to enhance training delivery.

  • Partner with management to align training programs with customer learning and development goals.

  • Identify opportunities to improve existing programs and create new training courses.

  • Travel up to 50% to TVH Americas sites to conduct training sessions for employees and customers.

  • Coordinate travel logistics, including airfare, lodging, and car rentals as needed.

  • Submit expense reports in line with corporate travel guidelines.

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for TVH’s mission, vision, and values.

  • Contribute to the development of company resources like ecommerce and make/model software, ensuring accurate information for the Product and Procurement teams.

  • Continuously enhance your expertise by attending relevant training programs.

  • Collaborate with team members as the subject matter expert and share knowledge.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

HOW TO SUCCEED

We’re looking for someone who can come up with simple solutions to complex problems. To join us you need:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial or automotive equipment repair.

  • At least 2 years of experience in training and/or sharing industrial or automotive equipment repair knowledge with others.

  • Strong research and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude.

  • Proven track record of collaborating with various departments to develop knowledge, share information, and gather material for course content.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to meet deadlines.

  • Effective presentation skills, with the ability to engage and encourage participation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.

  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and a collaborative approach to achieving goals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Demonstrates intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Google Suite (Mail, Calendar, Hangouts, Sheets, Drive).
