The Business Analyst Search is responsible for driving the continuous improvement of the search experience within a global B2B webshop. This role involves gathering and analyzing search-related data, identifying areas for enhancement, and leading initiatives to optimize search performance. The business analyst will take full ownership of one search domain, ensuring that its functionality aligns with business goals, improves the customer journey, and drives conversions. Strong project management skills are essential to ensure the effective execution of initiatives and alignment with timelines, resources, and business priorities.
Your role and responsibilities
Business Analysis:
Analyze search data and user behavior to identify opportunities for improvement in the search experience.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to benchmark the webshop’s search performance against industry standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document search-related requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
Business ownership within a search domain:
Own and drive the development roadmap for a specific search domain (e.g., reference search, product search, model search, relevance filters, etc. ).
Define and prioritize the search domain’s features and enhancements in line with customer needs and business objectives.
Project Management:
Take ownership of managing search-related projects from inception to completion.
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure that initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Communicate project status to stakeholders regularly, resolving any issues that may arise during execution.
Work closely with development teams to ensure that deliverables meet technical requirements and quality standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with development teams, UX/UI designers, and data scientists to implement search improvements.
Coordinate with other product owners and business units (e.g., PIM, data science) to ensure a holistic approach to the customer experience.
Engage with sales, marketing, and customer support teams to gather feedback and insights that influence the search roadmap.
Stakeholder Management:
Present insights, findings, and product updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency on the progress of the search domain.
Manage the expectations of senior leadership, ensuring that the search strategy aligns with the broader business goals.
KPI’s
Improvement in search relevance and accuracy metrics (e.g., CTR on search results, reduction in search abandonment).
Increase in search-driven conversions
Success of features or enhancements implemented within the owned search domain (e.g., filters, AI-driven suggestions).
Customer satisfaction and feedback related to search experience.
Timely delivery of roadmap items and projects within the search domain.
Your profile:
A minimum of 3 years experience in a related field
Search Expertise: Strong understanding of search technologies and their application within a B2B eCommerce environment.
Project Management Skills: Proven experience in managing complex projects from start to finish, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, resource constraints, and budgets. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project) and Agile methodologies is essential.
Business Analysis Skills: Proven experience in gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements, particularly related to search functionality. Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and prioritize them effectively.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret search-related data (e.g., search logs, Google Analytics) and make decisions that improve user experience and business outcomes. Proficiency with Python is a strong plus.
Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage technical and business complexities.
