Accounts Receivable & Collections Manager

The Accounts Receivable & Collections Manager will lead the accounts receivable and collections operations, ensuring efficient invoicing, collections, and dispute management. This role is critical in enhancing cash flow, minimizing credit risk, and ensuring adherence to company policies. The manager will drive the alignment of AR processes with global strategies, build strong customer relationships, and implement best practices to ensure operational efficiency and excellence.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You’ll deliver short and long term projects that support the business strategy. This will involve:
Leading and managing the regional AR team to ensure collection targets are met and team performance remains high.
Providing coaching and development opportunities to team members to foster professional growth.
Driving timely collections and minimizing overdue receivables and bad debts across the region.
Implementing credit policies, conducting risk assessments, and setting appropriate credit limits for customers.
Aligning regional collection procedures with global AR strategies.
Identifying and implementing process improvements, including automation, to enhance AR efficiency.
Standardizing AR processes across North America to ensure alignment with global best practices.
Collaborating with IT and other teams to upgrade AR systems and improve reporting capabilities.
Building strong customer relationships to ensure timely payments and resolving invoicing disputes.
Coordinating with sales, customer service, and operations teams to address account and receivable issues.
Ensuring AR processes comply with financial policies, legal requirements, and regional regulations.
Supporting audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
Implementing internal controls to minimize risks related to fraud and mismanagement.
Developing, tracking, and reporting key AR performance metrics (e.g., DSO, overdue receivables).
Analyzing AR data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Providing performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, challenges, and achievements.
HOW TO SUCCEED / YOUR PROFILE
We’re looking for someone who can come up with simple solutions to complex problems. To join us you need:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar finance function, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
Demonstrated expertise in managing AR processes within regional or global organizations.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and AR automation tools.
In-depth knowledge of credit risk management and collections procedures.
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
Experience in tracking and reporting AR metrics to monitor team performance.
Ability to resolve complex disputes and build customer satisfaction.
CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Suite (Mail, Calendar, Hangouts, Sheets, Drive).
