Full-time | Finance | Location – Olathe, KS
The Regional Center of Excellence (CoE) Manager, Accounts Payable – North America, will oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) function for the region, ensuring efficient processing, compliance with internal policies, and support for strategic initiatives. This role will act as a key leader in process optimization and automation efforts, aligning AP practices with the company's global strategies, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, complex environment.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Management
- Oversee and manage the regional Accounts Payable team, ensuring high performance and adherence to global AP policies.
- Lead the North American AP Center of Excellence (CoE) by providing direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Act as a primary point of contact for escalations and issue resolution in the AP function.
Process Optimization & Innovation
- Drive continuous process improvements and automation initiatives in the AP function, working in coordination with global teams.
- Identify opportunities for standardization across the region, ensuring alignment with global best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance AP systems, technologies, and processes.
Compliance & Control
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and controls within the AP process.
- Maintain compliance with regional and global tax regulations, including handling of VAT, GST, and other indirect taxes.
- Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving queries.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including procurement, treasury, and finance teams, to ensure alignment and efficiency in the AP process.
- Manage external vendor relationships, ensuring timely payments and resolution of disputes.
- Regularly engage with senior management, providing updates on KPIs and performance metrics.
Reporting & Performance Metrics
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the AP function, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Analyze AP data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare regular performance reports for senior leadership, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
HOW TO SUCCEED / YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance function, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in managing AP processes within a regional or global organization.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and AP automation tools.
- Strong understanding of regional tax laws and regulations (North America).
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
