Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

We’re GemOne, a start-up global tech company (part of TVH). We work in the field of telematics. Tele-what-ics??! Yes, we’re fully aware that telematics isn’t something most people know a lot about. But if you’re willing to learn and you have skills to share, then you might just find out that this company, role, and industry are a perfect fit for you.

We co-create cloud-based solutions and the necessary hardware components to gather data from industrial equipment, which our customers then use to streamline their industrial fleet management.

In a nutshell, we make technology that helps companies look after their industrial machinery and business better — we enable them to work safer and more efficiently, and save time and money.

With offices both in Belgium and in the US, we are growing rapidly and we’re looking for people with a can-do mindset and a team player mentality.

About the position

GemOne is looking for a Electromechanical Technician to join our R&D team within our broader Products organization. Within GemOne, we build our products from the ground up, i.e. from design, over firmware development, up until prototype validations. To support that, we also invest heavily in the software engineering that comes with it. You will be a key player in this team and use your machine knowledge to improve our products so we can offer unique machine insights to our customers.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • From the get-go, you will be the main point of contact for everything related to our CAN engineering. Of course you will be able to learn from seasoned engineers with expert knowledge on the matter on how to tackle the challenges it provides, however from the moment you feel comfortable, it’ll be you driving the pace in close collaboration with the R&D engineers in the team.

  • You will build up in-depth machine knowledge, and utilize that knowledge to understand the workings of the machine engine and what the CAN data means when it is being communicated by the machine

  • You will visit clients throughout Belgium and Europe to get your hands on their actual machines and support your R&D colleagues to manipulate the machine so they can capture the right data. This includes operating machines such as forklifts, reach trucks, scissor lifts, …

  • You will work together with the R&D and Operations teams in order to, among others, schedule trips, lock in time with the customer for the right set of machines, and of course to share your findings with your colleagues in the R&D team so that they can engineer the correct protocols for your revelations.

  • From your experience with industrial machinery you will help to create the right schematics so that the team can develop the relevant wiring harnesses for it.

Required expertise & capabilities

  • 2-4 years of experience

  • You have had a technical education (A2/A3 car mechanics, electronics, car technology, electromechanics,...) or similar through experience.

  • You have an affinity with parts and operation of e.g. forklifts, reach trucks, trolleys,...

  • You are capable of reading schematics and utilize basic tools to measure and diagnose an electrical system.

  • You have an eye for detail, prefer quality over quantity and you have a structured way of working.

  • You’re not afraid to get hands-on eg. putting together custom cables with connectors.

  • Proactive mindset -spotting problems / challenges, but also drafting the potential solution and acting upon it.

  • Fluent in English -mastering another language such as Dutch, French, German, … is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time, both within Belgium as throughout Europe.

If you think you meet the requirements  - let’s meet!

But most importantly… don’t stand in the way of your own success — if you’re interested in the job, but wondering ‘’am I qualified?’’ — don’t! Our recruitment team is friendly and knows who they’re looking for, so hit that APPLY button now ;)

What’s in it for you

What else is cool about working with GemOne?

  • We have the backing of TVH, a large global corporation which gives us stability and network.

  • We know life isn’t “one size fits all” so we offer flexible working hours and hybrid working arrangements.

  • We offer an attractive salary package with extra benefits such as group & hospitalization insurance, company car, and the possibility to lease a bike. And we wouldn’t be a tech company without offering you a laptop and iPhone right?!

  • Upon mastering the “basic” skills, there is also ample opportunity to pursue areas of development that you have identified yourself (e.g. becoming an expert in a certain relevant field to GemOne’s business)

  • Aside from the abovementioned, you will also be able to learn from state-of-the-art IoT technology, together with a joyous mix of high-potentials and well seasoned professionals -if you want to learn a lot and very quickly, then you’ve come to the right place.

Today we are located in Cotton Park in Kortrijk but we will move to the TVH (our mother’s company) headquarter in Waregem in March 2025.
