Manufacturing Intern

Full-time |  Manufacturing | Location – Olathe, KS, 66022

As a Manufacturing Department Collaborator, you will work closely within our Manufacturing departments to learn and contribute to the team's business objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include performing project-related tasks designed to meet business needs, gaining in-depth knowledge about the functions and responsibilities of these departments. The objective is to complete tasks and projects that serve the department's business needs while providing you with opportunities to grow within this field

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll deliver short and long term projects that support the business strategy. This will involve:

  • Support departmental business activities from research and analysis to process improvement and project and task execution

  • Learn and begin to execute departmental functions, projects, tasks, intra-company and customer communication requirements

  • File, copy & distribute drawings 

  • Determine dimensions of parts using measuring tools 

  • Update engineering database, including entering new drawing requests

  • Work with departmental leaders and team members to learn the objectives and responsibilities of departments where assigned

  • Leverages analytical and critical thinking skills to complete assigned tasks and responsibilities

  • Participate in training to ensure continuous skill development

  • Participate in departmental activities

HOW TO SUCCEED / YOUR PROFILE

We’re looking for someone who can come up with simple solutions to complex problems. To join us you need:

  • College enrollment in a design, engineering or analytical related degree 

  • A high school diploma & a two year vocational or technical drafting training

  • Interest in; product development, data analysis, process mapping, process improvement

  • Prior experience in a professional environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
