The Accounts Payable Supervisor will supervises the accounts payable staff, updating financial records, and ensuring that all invoices are paid on time. Oversees the day-to-day operations and strategic goals of the accounts payable cycle through management, maintenance, implementation, and design of all accounts payable business procedures and functions.


YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the accounts payable staff and workflow, ensuring time/attendance management, interviewing, selection, coaching, training and evaluation of team members
  • Sets the tone for the team, including ensuring positive team member engagement through appropriate recognition, feedback and frequent communication with team members
  • Ensure team organization through task assignments and workload prioritization  
  • Analyzes invoices and expense reports for accuracy and eligibility for payment
  • Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate financial records and control reports
  • Prepares accounts payable register and related reports in a timely manner
  • Implementation and management of ACH payments and processes
  • Contributes to the development of processes and procedures
  • Conduct meetings with team members to discuss goals, provide coaching, training, and/or improvement opportunities
  • Actively participate in staff development and problem solving meetings, providing feedback and input for continuous improvement
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas
  • Support and enforce recommendations from management and assist departmental management as needed
  • Communicate effectively and productively with sensitivity, tact and professionalism with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Performs other duties as assigned including general accounting and financial functions

HOW TO SUCCEED / YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business or another related field OR an equivalent combination of education and substantially similar accounts payable experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance function, with demonstrated experience supervising a team.
  • Proven experience in managing AP processes within a regional or global organization.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and AP automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of regional tax laws and regulations (North America).
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
