Your role and responsibilities
Be a frontrunner in building a solid Data Foundation that will help TVH in taking the next step in becoming a digital, data driven company. As a Global Data Engineer you will play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of the data infrastructure, data models and standards within the existing and new application landscape at TVH.
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated person to further build our global data management team with a focus on excellence, initiative, courage and joy. You should have strong data management skills and solid understanding of the setup, technology and business behind data to convert our data challenges into data disciplines.
What you’ll do:
Responsible for the development & maintenance of the enterprise data infrastructure, data models, data lineage for one or more data objects in close cooperation with business, process owners, functional and technical experts.
Manages data management projects on your own and represents data in both Business and IT projects towards successful implementation while ensuring the compliance with data management standards and guidelines.
Drive the set-up and implementation of current and new data management directives and platforms (eg. data catalogs, data quality, data hub,…) in order to gain a firm grip on the data, models and flows.
Support data migration, integration and transformation projects with technical and business process knowledge to assure a successful implementation of the new system landscape.
Support the transition from the current as-is IT architecture into the new globally aligned to-be landscape, working on multiple systems and tools.
Maintain data management documentation on topics like data infrastructure, models, rules, standards and guidelines to meet changing business or system requirements.
Ensure continuous improvement of data quality.
Be a leader in creating data awareness in TVH by proactively sharing knowledge of data management theories, tools, technologies and opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Your profile
Bachelor or Master degree (computer science, IT, engineering) or equivalent by experience.
5 years of relevant experience in business & data engineering/ architecture and/or data migration.
Good knowledge and solid experience in data management, databases, data quality, data governance and analytics.
You combine an end-to-end view on the data flows on a global level with an understanding of business processes.
Proven hands-on experience with data modeling, data quality tools, SQL, programming languages, data profiling techniques and/or databases.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience with working in medium to large global organizations on key implementation/transformation data projects is an asset.
Ability to drive projects for results, build consensus and motivate people.
Strong communication-, people- & stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work autonomously and make critical decisions.
