As a Product Information Management (PIM) Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maximising conversion rates and enhancing the overall product experience through the enrichment and cleaning of product data from a commercial standpoint. You will be responsible for overseeing the organisation, accuracy, and optimization of product information across various platforms to ensure a seamless customer journey and drive business growth. 

Your role and responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to enrich product data by ensuring completeness, accuracy, consistency, and relevance. 

  • Implement strategies to cleanse and standardise data to maintain high quality and integrity.

  • Commercialise (selection, rounding, conversion, etc.) master data and perform master data management for ‘commercial only’ data.

  • Develop and maintain product taxonomy and attribute structures to facilitate efficient data organisation and retrieval. 

  • Ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.

  • Establish and enforce data quality standards and processes to minimise errors and discrepancies. 

  • Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

  • Work closely with marketing and content teams to enhance product descriptions and multimedia assets to improve product visibility and engagement.

  • Manage the PIM system and other relevant platforms to maintain up-to-date and accurate product information. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from different sources and ensure consistency across channels

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product data quality and commercial outcomes. 

  • Generate reports and insights to evaluate the effectiveness of data enrichment efforts and identify areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including merchandising, sales, IT, and customer service teams, to understand business requirements and align data management strategies with organisational goals.

  • Communicate with employees and fellow team members, and stimulate a good collaboration with other departments/sister companies, so that a positive work climate reigns and a smooth information flow is guaranteed.

How to succeed / your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Marketing, or related field. Advanced degree preferred. Or equivalent through experience.

  • Proven experience in product information management, data management, or related roles. Experience in an e-commerce environment is a strong plus. 

  • Experience in spare parts (material handling, automotive, …) is an even stronger pus. 

  • In-depth understanding of PIM systems, data modelling, taxonomy development, and data governance principles.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.

  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualisation platforms.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to product data management, such as ETIM, ECLASS, GS1, etc., is a plus.

  • Ideally 10 years of experience.

  • Experience with managing outsourcing partners
