Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our Item-to-Product (ITP) stream, which plays a role in redesigning and shaping our product sourcing and category management processes. As a Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of leveraging data analytics and machine learning techniques to optimize our item-to-product lifecycle, from sourcing the right products to effective categorization and inventory management. Your expertise in statistical analysis, modeling, and programming will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making and delivering innovative solutions within the ITP stream.
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze extensive datasets, extract actionable insights, and develop predictive models that enhance product sourcing, categorization, and inventory management within the ITP stream.
- Data Mining and Exploration: Explore and evaluate various data sources, including customer behavior data, product attributes, market trends, and supplier information, to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the ITP stream.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor the performance of algorithms, models, and data-driven solutions deployed within the ITP stream, identifying areas for optimization and recommending improvements to maximize business outcomes.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, category managers, sourcing experts, and supply chain professionals, to understand their requirements, translate them into data-driven solutions, and align them with the goals of the ITP stream.
How to succeed / Your profile
- You have obtained a master’s degree or academic/professional bachelor in computer science, statistics, economics or in another relevant field.
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Given the global scope of the position, your English is excellent.
- You are able to easily switch between conceptual thinking, practical analyses and task-based execution
- You are decisive, able and willing to lead a meeting, analytical, result-oriented and driven to get things done.
- You are able to handle resistance in a calm, measured way and are willing to recalibrate the plan if necessary.
- You have strong organizational skills, are able to meet deadlines, and have excellent communication skills.
- You are a team player and are strong in building and maintaining relationships.
- You are willing to travel from time to time.
