Job Title – Traffic Advisor

The Traffic Advisor plays a crucial role in optimising the logistics and transportation operations at our India Consolidation Center in Mumbai. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing the processing of mainly export outbound shipments (ocean / air), ensuring that goods are shipped efficiently and on time. Inbound import shipments are also part of the responsibilities, but are less frequent.

The Traffic Advisor will focus on managing relationships with local domestic carriers and facilitating the export of products to our global TVH locations, contributing to seamless supply chain operations. Through effective coordination and administrative support, this role aims to enhance operational efficiency and uphold our commitment to excellent service delivery. Key responsibilities include transport planning (export / import / domestic) and execution, operational support, customs clearance preparation and follow up, exception/error handling, problem solving, claims handling, metrics and analytics, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

•Arrange inbound/outbound shipments promptly and cost-effectively.

•Coordinate closely with warehouse staff for order picking, packing, and consolidation, and check order status in the TVH application to expedite warehouse processing activities.

•Prepare all required shipping documents (and export customs clearance preparation) and release goods to the designated carriers selected by TVH in a timely manner.

•Organise periodic operational meetings with the transport companies appointed by TVH.

•Make sure the standard operating procedure (SOP) with transport companies is followed and get updated when needed.

•Act as contact person for questions / remarks raised by the transport companies.

•Make sure shipment pre-alerts are sent to all TVH warehouse stakeholders containing all the necessary information. Make sure shipment discrepancies are reported (eg. Changed ETA)

•Make sure that additional export lanes are implemented in accordance with the existing working instructions and processes.

Knowledge of Domestic Freight:

•Comprehensive understanding of the Indian logistics and transportation network.

•Familiarity with regulations and compliance requirements for domestic freight within India.

•Knowledge of local domestic carriers and their operational procedures

•Have experience with shipment booking tools provided by transport companies

Expertise in Exportation:

•Detailed understanding of global export procedures and documentation (air / ocean)

•Proficiency in handling international shipping regulations and customs requirements.

•Experience with export compliance and the preparation of export shipping documents.

•Having dealt with export/import shipments in previous roles Logistics and Supply Chain Management:

•Strong grasp of logistics and supply chain management principles.

•Experience in transport planning and execution.

•Ability to coordinate effectively with warehouses and transport providers.

Operational Support and Error Handling:

•Expertise in managing operational support tasks and resolving shipping errors.

•Ability to handle exceptions and claims in the logistics process efficiently.

Experience:

•Proven experience in a transport or logistics role, particularly within the Indian market and in exportation.

•Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

•Experience in a similar role within the logistics and supply chain industry.

•Proven experience in air freight / ocean freight transport modes

•Proven experience with export / import customs clearance procedures
