Technical Information Services Supervisor

Full-time |  TIS | Location – Olathe, KS, 66022

Provides supervision to the team responsible for researching and responding to customers with parts. Work closely with Assistant Manager TIS to ensure goal achievement, training, mentoring, and goal achievement of TIS staff members. 

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll deliver short and long term projects that support the business strategy. This will involve:

  • Supervise, lead, mentor, select, train, and evaluate Technical Information Services (TIS) staff including:

    • Working with Assistant Manager to approve weekly time cards and ensure effective management of staff overtime, ensuring appropriate staffing levels for meeting productivity expectations 

    • Assisting team members in accomplishing their essential functions

    • Mentoring and development of staff for future leadership roles within Technical Information Services and other areas of the business 

    • Utilize MyTotal Performance Goals and Continuous Feedback modules to track each team member’s goal progress, achievement and demonstration of TVH values 

    • Work with TIS management and Human Resources in the interviewing, selection and hiring of new TIS team members 

  • Monitor and provide support to assigned TIS team members to ensure the highest levels of customer service and support

  • Work with Assistant Manager to review customer requests for all locations

  • Act as liaison between management and the TIS department

  • Help facilitate the development of new parts or additional products for customers

  • Participate in the development of processes and business platforms

  • Develop and execute projects as determined by management

  • Update and/or correct the information in the company databases as it applies to the TIS department (IRMN, XPart, TRIC, etc.)

  • Ensure adherence to company and departmental policies and procedures

  • Provide statistics as needed to management for the Balanced Scorecard

  • Travel as needed up to 10% to other company facilities 

  • Exemplify TVH’s Mission, Vision, and Values and proactively works to improve TVH’s image and culture 

  • Define strengths and weaknesses in the TIS staff and develop a plan to utilize the strengths and correct the weaknesses.

HOW TO SUCCEED / YOUR PROFILE

We’re looking for someone who can come up with simple solutions to complex problems. To join us you need:

  • Must possess a minimum of three years’ work experience in the TIS department and/or another similar department or forklift dealership experience in the parts, sales and/or service department 

  • Must demonstrate ability to effectively supervise, select, coach, mentor and train other TIS team members 

  • Demonstrates proficient mechanical aptitude 

  • Demonstrates proficient parts and product knowledge

  • Demonstrates proficiency using Google Mail, Calendar, Sheets, and Drive

  • Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate in an effective, positive manner with managers and individual contributors in a team environment 

  • Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrates superior organizational, time management and follow up skills 

  • Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude and collaborate effectively with others to achieve goals in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment 

  • Demonstrates a proven track record in effectively managing tasks and priorities, achieving goals and meeting deadlines in a consistent, complete, accurate and timely manner 

  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality
