
Compliance Advisor
Full-time | Legal | Location – Olathe, KS, 66022
The role of Compliance Advisor is to assist the Compliance Manager and team in identifying applicable regulatory and internal compliance requirements, translating these requirements to the context of the different impacted internal and external stakeholders
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You’ll deliver short and long-term projects that support the business strategy. This will involve:
• Identify compliance obligations from relevant sources and translate them into implementable policy measures;
• Identify and monitor compliance policies to ensure appropriate processes are in place;
• Provide corrective actions to reduce risk in all applicable business areas;
• Maintain regulatory knowledge of import and export regulations including product compliance requirements;
• Lead and manage project(s) with a compliance impact through the different phases of operations;
• Communicate with business stakeholders on compliance requirements impacting their operations;
• Monitor emerging trends regarding industry regulations to determine potential impacts on TVH in order to ensure that TVH remains compliant and up-to-date;
• Communicate in a professional manner with employees at all levels of the organization
• Performs other duties as assigned
HOW TO SUCCEED
We’re looking for someone who can come up with simple solutions to complex problems. To join us you need:
• Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience in international trade and compliance, with proficient knowledge of customs and trade regulations and standards
• Demonstrates experience and proficient knowledge of internal control, risk management and monitoring techniques
• Demonstrates intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Proven experience and demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
• Demonstrates effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills across all levels of the organization
• Demonstrates effective organizational, time management and follow up skills
• Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude and collaborate effectively with others to achieve goals in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Demonstrates ability to effectively managing tasks and priorities for overlapping projects and meeting deadlines
