On Saturday, 25 November, the 'Dag van de Natuur' (Nature Day), in collaboration with Natuurpunt and 30 enthusiastic employees, parts specialist TVH planted 1600 trees on a vast terrain of 8500 m² (about 91 500 sq. ft), close to the Beerbos forest in Sint-Denijs (Zwevegem).
This is not the first time TVH has shown its commitment to the environment. The company organised a successful tree planting action in 2022, planting the second part of the Waterhoevebos forest in Sint-Denijs (7000 m² - about 75 500 sq. ft). These initiatives demonstrate TVH's continued commitment to promoting biodiversity and strengthening local ecosystems.
GREEN STATEMENT
Anton Theunynck, Sustainability Manager at TVH, is happy: "The recent tree-planting day at the Beerbos forest adds a new chapter to our growing portfolio of sustainable initiatives and underlines the importance of continued efforts for a greener future. With 30 participating employees, we not only planted trees today, but we also gave nature more space."
This large-scale tree-planting project is part of the Zwevegem municipality's forest policy plan and supports local objectives and broader European initiatives. With the new trees on this site, TVH contributes to the target of 3 billion extra trees to be planted across Europe by 2030, according to the EU forest strategy.
